1st period-ENGLISH

                                          L.O.- Recall Singular and Plural nouns
Boys ,you already know about one and many nouns.When we talk about a single thing or person (any noun) it is called -SINGULAR .When there are many nouns-they are called -PLURAL.Now open your S.Chand Grammar Book and read carefully pages 14 and 15.In your English Language notebooks-give the Heading -Nouns-Number, 

1.A noun standing for one person,place,animal or thing is said to be in the Singular.

2.A noun standing for more than one person,place ,animal or thing is said to be the Plural  
Examples  for      both--------      Singular         and          Plural
                                                   tree                             trees           
                                                   brush                         brushes 
                                                   mango                       mangoes
                                                     leaf                           leaves
                                                     cherry                       cherries
                                                      toy                             toys
                                                      tooth                           teeth

                You may draw their pictures  alongside also and colour them.

Q1.What are the parts of the Shoot system?                                                                          
A1. The Shoot system consists of  the stem,leaves,branches,bus,flowers,fruits and seeds.
Q2.What is Photosynthesis?What does a plant need it for?
A2.The process by which green plants  make their food in the presence of sunlight  is called Photosynthesis.
A plant requires water,minerals ,sunlight and carbondioxide for Photosynthesis.
The roots absorb water and mineral salts fro the soil.The leaves take in carbondioxide from the air through their stomata.They use this and their chlorophyll(green Colour) and sunlight to prepare their food.

L.O- Form your letters neatly.
